Jesus said in Matthew 5:17, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.” The thing Jesus said don’t think is the very thing that many Christians are thinking and that is that Jesus abolished the law. Just what did Jesus mean when He said, I came to fulfill the law? Does this mean there is no moral obligation to the 10 commandments?

The book of Galatians says, the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. Exactly what law was a schoolmaster to bring us to faith in Christ? Was it the 10 commandments like so many Christians suppose?

In Ephesians 2:14-15 the Bible says, For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace. Was the middle wall of partition the 10 commandments? Did Jesus abolish the 10 commandments?

Colossians 2 in verse 14 says, Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. Were the 10 commandments really against us? Were the 10 commandments really contrary to us? Did Jesus really nail the 10 commandments to His cross?
